How: [ Event Site ]
Over the past two years, Barjeel Art Foundation has embarked on an unprecedented schedule of international exhibitions of works from the collection, and events around Arab modern and contemporary art. With the unique opportunity of its founder and all three curators together in one place, this event allows Barjeel to bring the conversation back home and reflect on its unique journey as an independent initiative promoting Arab modern and contemporary art regionally and internationally since 2010. This discussion will touch on Barjeel’s unique position and uncommon hybrid nature, which allowed for a flexible and dynamic approach in developing projects and in collaboration with other institutions. Aside from a retrospective view of the past eight years, the event will also touch on Barjeel’s plans and strategy moving into the future.

This panel discussion will take place at Nadi Al Quoz in Alserkal Avenue with Sultan Sooud Al-Qassemi (founder), Karim Sultan (director), Suheyla Takesh (curator-at-large) and Mandy Merzaban (founding curator), will be moderated by Antonia Carver (director, Art Jameel).
